Tommy's room and the guest room

It is fun to actually have a closet for Tommy so we can hang up all of his clothes and we have a place for all of his stuff.

Joe painted Tommy's whole room. He stayed up until 2am finishing everything and hanging up everything. I woke up at 3am to get a diaper for Tommy from his room and I was pleasantly surprised by what Joe had done. The only thing that really surprised me was "my belly" - Joe had hung up the plaster of my belly that my cousin Michelle made over Thanksgiving last year. I was wondering why it was placed so low on the wall. Joe told me that he likes the belly low so people can go and stand next to it and compare belly sizes. I just laughed. The belly is still hanging low on the wall.

We bought a bunch of wall stickers that match Tommy's room which is sports themed. We also hung up Tommy's taggie football - a football with taggies all over. Tommy loves to look up at the fan and see his football hanging in the room.

This room used to be all white and it had dings and was dirty. I love the tan color. It was nice to be able to fit his crib and changing table in the room.

Joe painted all of the letters and they match my belly plaster. I love the way he hung them up kind of crooked.

Another picture of the crib. I was so paranoid that Tommy might get squished between the mattress and the bumpers so I removed the bumpers. However, Tommy got his leg stuck in between the bars this morning while taking a nap. I was able to get him out quickly but he was not happy so I will be putting back up the bumper today.

Tommy is enjoying his new high chair. It lowers so he can be eye level with us at the kitchen table. Thanks Dad and Kris!

The high chair can also roll if you unlock the wheels so we went riding around the kitchen yesterday and Tommy loved it.

The guest bedroom was painted blue when we moved in so we left it blue for now. My mom will be the first one to stay in the room this weekend!

More pics of the house will be coming soon!

We have moved!

We moved into our house last week. We closed a week late so it was a slow and frustrating process but it is now all over and we are really enjoying all of the room! I feel like I am in a palace compared to our apartment as I have so much more room. Tommy and I are really enjoying playing in all of the rooms. We don't have furniture in the living room but it works perfect for a play room as we can spread out all of his toys. We have been working on small projects in the house. Actually, Joe has been doing most of the work and I just make sure Tommy is taken care of and happy. Joe installed a microwave above the stove - we were able to save $100 by installing it ourselves. He also has been painting Tommy's room and the office. Tommy's room looks so good! It is so fun to be able to actually design a room for him. Joe also painted the office. The next room that needs to be painted is our bedroom. My mom is coming this weekend and Joe's sister is getting married in Gilbert on June 5th so we have some more family coming in to stay with us that week. We love being able to have friends and family over. Tommy has started eating rice cereal and he LOVES it. He can't get enough. He eats really good and opens his mouth for every bite. I have too many pics to download so you can view some pics by clicking here.

Uncle Jim

My brother flew in to meet Tommy! He is currently subbing in Beulah and was able to take a few days to come visit us. He just got offered a full time job as a 5th grade teacher for Northridge Elementary in Bismarck. I am so excited for him as there were 350 applicants for 5 job openings and he got one of the jobs. He was going to stay in Beulah and continue his coaching job but there were no full time teaching jobs open for next year. I am really excited to see his classroom this summer as I am sure I will be home a lot. I don't want to be in the heat with Tommy all summer so we plan on spending a lot of time in ND enjoying the weather, family and the lake. Jim also bought Tommy a pair of Nike Air Jordans! They are so cute. I think Jim is getting Tommy ready for a basketball career.

Sprinkles

My friend Katie truly knows the way to my heart - sweets! She brought over the most delicious cupcakes from a place called Sprinkles Cupcakes in Scottsdale and they were amazing. Katie is from ND and I just love having a good friend from back home who lives in the area! We were talking today about how comforting it is to have friends down here from back home! Anyways, one of our friends LeAnn came into town from ND so the three of us went out to lunch and it was great to catch up with LeAnn who just got engaged.
