Almost 39 weeks

I can't believe we are about to have another baby! I told Joe last night that we are just getting the hang of this parenting thing and now we are going to have another one. We are so excited but we are also a little nervous about loosing sleep again and having a newborn in the house. I am almost 39 weeks and I am starting to get really uncomfortable. I thought I would be completely fine to go over 40 weeks but I am now ready for this baby to arrive! As you can see in the picture above I am busting out of that dress so I am ready! I cannot wait to meet her and I am ready to get my body back as I am achy all over each night and the heat is not helping. It has been almost 100 degrees in AZ lately. If Tommy and I go out to a playdate in the morning we are both wiped out by the afternoon and I now take a nap each day while he is napping. I am trying to get a lot of rest before the next one arrives.

This past weekend Katie, Konrad, and Wyatt came down to stay with us and see family and we had a lot of fun! Wyatt and Tommy really love each other and play well together. It is neat to see the cousins play together more and more each time we get together! I am hoping Tommy will enjoy playing with his little sister as she gets older just like he enjoys playing with Wyatt.

We had a great time together on Mother's Day. Joe brought me coffee while I got ready for church. We all headed to church at 10am and then went over to Joe's parents house for lunch and hung out by the pool. Tommy made Nana and his Grandma pottery plates with his handprint in the middle so it was fun to see Nana open her gift. I know my mom also enjoyed getting her plate in the mail! We then came home to put Tommy down for a nap and after he woke up Joe, Tommy, and I went out to a Vietnamese restaurant for dinner. It was really good as I was craving Vietnamese!

Later that night Joe put Tommy down for the night but he would not fall asleep so we let him come out in the TV room for a bit and Tommy laid on Joe while he rubbed his head and Tommy fell asleep right away. I told Joe that I am starting to get a little jealous as Tommy and Joe are SO close and Tommy just cries every morning when Joe leaves for work. If I ever leave on the weekends Tommy just smiles and waves bye-bye. So, I was starting to feel a little insecure about my mothering. However, I am thankful to have such a hands on husband who LOVES our kids so much and really takes the initiative when it comes to parenting. Joe plays with Tommy when he gets home from work every day and gets him ready for bed each night. He also puts him to bed and gets up with him during the middle of the night if Tommy wakes up looking for a pacifier. Joe has taken on the night role ever since I was done nursing and also because he wants me to get rest since I am pregnant. I think it will be really good that Tommy is so attached to Joe right now as I know I will be really busy with the baby when she arrives.

We are working on finishing the baby room. I have all of her clothes washed and organized. I am so thankful as I had a couple of friends give me their baby girl clothes! It is so fun to organize little girl clothes. She will sleep in our room for the first few months since I hope to be nursing but we have decided to buy another crib since Tommy is still in his crib. Actually, my mom has offered to buy us a crib so I am excited to pick out a white crib and get that set up soon. My mom will be flying down at the end of May when she is done with school and she will be staying with us for two weeks. I am so thankful that she will be here as she can help with Tommy and it will be nice to have company during the day while Joe is at work. I still need to pack a bag for the hospital and get some last minute things ready but I know it will all work out whenever our little girl decides to arrive! Thankfully, Joe's parents are ready and waiting for the "we're in labor" call as they will be staying at our house with Tommy while we are in the hospital. It is so nice to have his parents close by and Tommy LOVES them. Please say a little prayer that everything goes well as we hope to have a new baby at home soon!
