Hiking Backpack

The weather in Arizona is perfect this time of year. Joe and I love to go hiking but it has been hard to get out with a baby and it is also hard for me to do tough climbs while I am pregnant. However, we have still enjoyed the easy climbs. Last week we took Tommy hiking but we did not have a backpack for Tommy so Joe carried Tommy on his shoulders and it really wore Joe out. Luckily, on the way home from the hike we spotted a second hand store and found a gently used hiking backpack. Joe and Tommy were testing the backpack out tonight and Tommy LOVES it. Can't wait to go out again this weekend!

Park Time

Lately, Tommy and I have been enjoying going to the park every morning as Tommy loves to feed the ducks. Tommy loves the to play on the playground, run around on the huge open soccer fields, and he loves to climb the hills.

I don't push him around in the stroller anymore as he loves his little car. Joe even brings this car in the grocery store when he has Tommy with him as Tommy loves to ride around in the car. (I wish I had more pictures but I only had my camera phone today.)

Only in North Dakota

Tommy was enjoying the North Dakota weather this past Thanksgiving before it got too cold. I was talking with my mom on the phone tonight and she said it is really cold in ND and she is worried she won't be able to get her car out in the morning so she has her cross country skis ready. Only in North Dakota are teachers that dedicated that they will cross country ski to work in frigid temperatures.

Tommy's 1st Birthday Party

We had so much fun getting ready for Tommy's first birthday party! We had some great family friends come over to help celebrate and my mom was in town from North Dakota. The party was football themed and Tommy had a blast!
Friends and family came over to help celebrate Tommy's 1st birthday!

Cousins Luke and Hannah with Aunt Robyn!

Everything was decorated with football gear! We now have enough football stuff to host a Super Bowl Party!

Joe and I even got dressed up in our jerseys for the football themed birthday party!

Joe made three cakes for Tommy's birthday. Yes, my husband is AMAZING! I was just going to go to Wal Mart and buy a cake but Joe wanted to make the cakes. One just for Tommy, a heart shaped one and a double layer chocolate cake for everyone else! They tasted so good! Joe did the cooking and baking and I decorated.

Tommy loved his cake and could not stop eating. We finally had to take it away. He has such a sweet tooth!

He stuck his pacifier in after he was done eating!

Cousin Luke loved that he got his own heart shaped cake!
